Cajun Jalapeno Chicken Burger

Intro

Cajun Jalapeno Chicken Burger is a simple recipe for chicken instead of beef.  This recipe will produce 2 to 4 burgers.  You can make 2 ½ lb. burgers or 4 ¼ lb. Burgers.  I like the flavoring of Chicken, Bacon, and Ranch so you can put some ranch dressing on these burgers instead of your usual condiments.  If you don’t like ranch, weirdo, use the good old ketchup and mustard combo.  I like this recipe for both the grill and just in a cast iron skillet in the house.  Either way will get you great results.  Enjoy this one!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground Chicken
  • 1 Large Jalapeno
  • 1 TBS Cajun Seasoning
  • 4 Slices of Bacon
  • 2-4 Slices of Cheese
  • 2-4 Burger Buns
  • Ranch Dressing (Optional)

Directions

  1. Dice the Jalapeno into small little pieces. This is key to getting a little heat into each burger and letting them cook inside it.
  2. In a bowl combine the ground chicken, jalapeno, and Cajun seasoning.
  3. Mix this well in the bowl and form up the number of patties you want. (2-4)
  4. Now you want to cook your bacon. If you are cooking in a skillet cook the bacon to your liking and leave the grease in the skillet to cook your burgers in!
  5. Once the bacon is to your liking place it on a paper towel to draw out some of the grease.
  6. Toast your Burger buns now. You can do this on the grill or in a toaster oven.
  7. Now the Patties! In the skillet on medium heat cook on each side for 3 to 4 minutes checking the internal temperature until it reaches 165 F.  Now I will tell you I don’t always go to 165 F, but that is the common recommendation with chicken.
  8. On the grill, you will do the same for 3-4 minutes per side, but make sure to check the internal temperature.
  9. Melt some cheese on top of the patties and then remove from the skillet or grill and place it on the bun.
  10. Put on your ranch or other condiments and enjoy!
