Intro

Fire Garlic Honey Shrimp is a spicy recipe that is very good.  What makes this one really good is the combination of the freshly grated ginger and the red pepper flake.  The sauce for the shrimp really tastes great and has just enough kick.  Marinade the shrimp in it prior to cooking for at least 20 minutes or I’d suggest letting it marinate overnight.  Once this is done everything can come together and be cooked in a matter of about 20 minutes, so sort of a quick meal.  If you like spicy and sweet give this one a go!

Ingredients

  • 3 Garlic Cloves Minced
  • 2 Tsp of Grated Fresh Ginger
  • 1/3 Cup of Honey
  • ¼ Cup of Soy Sauce
  • 2 Tsp of Red Pepper Flake
  • 1 Lb. of Shrimp
  • 1 14.5oz Can of Fire Roasted Tomatoes
  • Rice (Optional)

Directions

  1. Prep your shrimp and place it in a bowl.
  2. In another bowl place the garlic and fresh ginger in a bowl.
  3. Now add in the Honey and the soy sauce.
  4. Sprinkle in the Red Pepper Flake over the honey and soy sauce. Mix this all together well.
  5. Pour 1/3 of this mixture over the Shrimp.
  6. Use a spoon and mix the shrimp and sauce together. Let this marinate for at least 20 minutes.  You can leave overnight if preparing the day before.
  7. Heat a skillet with medium heat and then add some oil.
  8. Place the shrimp in the skillet and let it cook for a couple of minutes then flip the shrimp and let it cook for another couple of minutes.
  9. Then pour in the rest of the Garlic Honey mixture this should come to a low boil quickly.
  10. Let this simmer for a while, so that the sauce will thicken.
  11. While simmering drain the fire-roasted tomatoes and then add them to the skillet.
  12. Mix well and then it will be ready to serve.
  13. Spoon onto a plate with rice if desired and enjoy!
