Men Can Cook Chef Level: Featherweight
Yields 4 Servings
Intro
First off I’m not a huge fan of Onions. However one evening I was tired, hungry, and up to eat what I had in the old kitchen. This recipe was born of my poor dinner planning. Leaving the house was not in the cards! Beefy French Onion Beans & Rice was created because I was lazy. I’m happy I was lazy and found this meal that I can share with you!
I had ground beef, French onion soup, black beans, leftover brown rice, a green bell pepper, and some cheese. These items would work together. I grabbed my trusty Cast Iron skillet and went to work. This is a simple and delicious meal that I have made a half dozen times now! Tastes awesome reheated as well!
Men you can do this!
Beer pairing (Enjoy a brew or 2 while you cook…it decreases the perceived cook time)
With this one, I tend to grab a Brown ale. The medium roasted malt, caramel-like, and chocolate-like characteristics tend to blend well with this hearty bowl of food. The medium to low hop flavor and aroma let you enjoy the food while not challenging it.
