Lightweight Chef

At this level, you level up to the Slow Cooker & Grill level!

Spices

As far as spices go you are still basically using all the items in the Featherweight level, but you are also starting to use premixed seasonings such as Flavor God or the McCormick Grill Mates Montreal Seasoning.  Also at this point, you should be grilling!  With Grilling comes the use of marinades such as McCormick Grill Mate Marinades for Steaks, Chicken, & even Shrimp. All are available in the spices & marinades section of the shop.

Equipment

Well, a Grill and a Slow Cooker are the big-ticket items to level up to Lightweight.  For a grill, a propane will do, but I recommend getting a Charcoal Grill because you get a better taste and the ability to cook with indirect heat…key to the next level!  (Side note a propane grill is really just an outdoor stove for men which is lame)  I use an 18 inch Weber Grill which is affordable, but I would like to one day upgrade to the 22-inch grill

For the Slow Cooker, I’d pick up the largest you can find 6 to 8 quart.  You will need it for this Chili Recipe!  No man should just make one serving of chili.  Small ticket items you need at this level are a good knife set, a cutting board, & a grill utensil set!  Check out the shop for some examples of these items.

Recap and Notes

That is it, Men!  That’s the next level.  This level moves off the stove and into the arena of the Grill.  You are getting slow cooker to be able to have set it and forget it meals.  Which men need to have simply combined ingredients and walk away from meals.  (We need to get back to taking on the world.)  I made a number of fantastic meals on this level and probably spent the longest period of time in these Arena.  Most of my early to mid-20s!
