Intro

Liquid Smoke Queso came about when I constantly would see Traeger recipes with this amazing-looking Queso.  I don’t have a Traeger yet, so I found this liquid smoke flavor sometime last summer.  I’m sure this is not as good as the pellet grill version, but it’s dam good!  This liquid smoke stuff is pretty potent and you don’t need much to get the flavor profile for your meals.  They work also with the slow cooker.  I’ve done some slow cook ribs and used some of these flavors. Liquid Smoke Queso is perfect for any get-together!

Ingredients

  • 1 Tsp Liquid Smoke
  • 1lb Chorizo Sausage
  • 10.5oz Can Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 10oz Can Rotel with Green Chilies
  • 16oz Velveeta
  • 8oz of Shredded Mexican Cheese

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 225 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a skillet cook the Sausage to brown over medium heat.
  3. Cut up your Velveeta into small cubes and place them in a 9 by 9-inch deep dish.
  4. Pour in your Rotel & Mushroom soup to the 9 by 9 dish. Pour the liquid smoke right on the Rotel & Mushroom soup.
  5. Put the sausage into the dish with everything else and then sprinkle the Mexican cheese over the top of everything.
  6. Place in the oven for 45 minutes.
  7. Remove from oven and give everything a really good mix with a spoon.
  8. Turn up the oven to 400 degrees.
  9. Place back in the oven for 15 minutes or until the Queso is bubbling!
  10. Remove from oven and give it another mix.
  11. Serve with some chips & enjoy!
