Men Can Cook Chef Level:  Featherweight

Intro

Pretzel Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies is a recipe that doesn’t require an electric mixer.  All you need is a couple of bowls, a cooking pan, a whisk, and a spatula.  Bonus if you have a smaller scoop to make your cookies around the same size.  This cookie is also a great combination of Salt with the pretzel and the chocolate chips.  Pretzel Dark Chocolate Chip Cookies is also a great dunking cookie, so make sure you have some milk readily available once these come out of the oven and they are slightly cooled.  Give this one a go next time you need to calm your sweet tooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Butter
  • 2 ¼ Cups of Flour
  • 1tsp Baking Soda
  • 1 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbs Milk
  • ½ cup of brown sugar
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup of pretzel sticks
  • 2 cups of Dark Chocolate Chips

Directions

  1. Make sure you set your butter out of the refrigerator until it becomes soft. At least an hour before you want to make these cookies.
  2. In a bowl combine the flour, baking soda, & kosher salt. Wisk these items together and set this bowl aside.
  3. In another bowl place your butter. Put in your sugar and brown sugar. With a Spatula begin to mix these together.
  4. Next add in the vanilla, milk, & egg with the butter and sugar mixture. Mix this very well.
  5. Now slowly add in the flour mixture. The hard part of this is to mix in the flour without spilling it all over the place.
  6. Break up a cup of pretzels. Now I used stick pretzels for the recipe pictures. However, any will work just make sure you break them up into smaller bite-size pieces.
  7. Add the pretzels and chocolate chips to the bowl and mix these through the cookie dough.
  8. Bag up the cookie dough and place it in the refrigerator for an hour. This will make the dough easy to work with.  You will be able to scoop it better!
  9. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  10. Scoop the cookie dough into small 1 to 2 TBS size balls and place them in a 2 by 1 pattern on a lined baking sheet. 8 cookies per pan.
  11. Cook in the oven for 12 minutes or until golden brown.
  12. Remove from oven and place on a cooling rack.
  13. Enjoy with a glass of milk and have a great day!
