Garlic Press & Tools

Product Review: Vantic Garlic Press (Rocker Press)

Description of Product

This is a garlic press that is different from most that you see in the kitchen.  I call it the “Rocker Press” because of how you use this one.  I purchased this product off of Amazon late last summer when my old garlic press broke and I had a plethora of garlic from my garden.  It filled a need quickly and so I order it.  As you can see from the picture this Press came with a green garlic skin/outer layer remover and a small knife-like device.  You really got three tools in one here!

The Garlic press itself has a large handle on one side and the garlic pressing area on the other side.  It’s constructed of metal and plastic.  It has a very sturdy handle and has a good hand feel.  The handle is very comfortable.  Overall it is a very well constructed and sturdy tool that works great in the kitchen.

Use of Product

Prep the Garlic

How do you use this particular “Rocker” Garlic Press?!?  Well, the first thing you want to do is get the outer layer/skin off of your garlic cloves.  This product comes with a green device to speed this process along.  Place the clove into the green device and using the palms of your hands rolling the green device pressing against the clove.  The outer shell should just start to break up and fall away.  I’d do this over a sink or a towel to catch the outer layer, so you can discard it.  Now remove the clove and set it aside.  From here you continue this process until you have all of the cloves you need for a particular recipe.

Using the Press

It’s “Rocker Time” now take one of the skinned garlic cloves and place it on a hard surface.  Take the press in hand and press down on the clove to crush the clove.  Once crushed rocker the press over the clove until you get all of the clove through the press.  You can at this point use the fancy knife-like tool and scrap out the pressed garlic setting it aside for your recipe or place it in a container for later.  You can do a couple of garlic cloves before scrapping if you wish.

Clean up

Remove any of the leftover garlic on both sides of the Press.  This should be minimal.  Clean up is relatively easy!  A quick rinse before placing it in the dishwasher, and very rarely do I need to break out the toothpick when it comes out of the dishwasher.  If you wash it by had simple scrub it with your sponge and you may need to use a toothpick to clean out the holes, but it’s easy to get to and remove.

Cost/Affordability

This press is priced at or slightly cheaper than your average Home kitchen garlic press.  It’s less expensive than your commercial garlic presses.  It is very affordable!

Overall thoughts

I absolutely LOVE this garlic press!  It’s easy to use compared to the regular hand squeezing garlic presses out there.  You get a lot more out of each Clove and so much less waste.  The in the hand squeezing garlic press, I always found you would lose, so much garlic in the press itself and make a complete mess of it.  You are not fooling around digging garlic out of the press itself.  You simply use the knife-like tool to just quickly scrape the garlic out and add it to your recipe. Limited waste and more garlic out of every clove with this Rocker Press!

The clean-up is so much easier!  With regular hand squeeze garlic press, you spend most of your time cleaning the press.  I actually broke my old hand garlic press trying to get it clean.  You can literally just put this Rocker Garlic Press into the dishwasher let it run a clean cycle and take it out to use again.  Or if you don’t have a dishwasher give it a quick spray/rinse and maybe take a toothpick to clean out excess garlic in the holes.  Much easier than the common hand squeeze garlic press.

I highly recommend this garlic press.  I’ve gifted this press to a couple of family member and they are shocked at how great it is!  You can pick one up through my shop at this garlic press link! Do yourself a favor and get one!  Believe me, it’s worth it and unbelievable affordable!  I’d tell you after having used it I would pay double for it and not even second guess myself!  One of the top kitchen tools I have in my kitchen.
