Shaker Bottle Whiskey Steak Marinade

Men Can Cook Chef Level:  Featherweight

This will Marinade up to 3 pounds of MEAT!

Intro

I’m always looking for ways to flavor Steak!  Shaker Bottle Whiskey Steak Marinade is one of my new favorites.  The ingredients in this are simple and you can substitute some of them based on personal taste.  For instance, in you have a seasoning that you like you could use it to replace the salt and pepper.  In this instance, I used Land seasoning by Fit Men Cook which you can pick up through this link.  Another example would be you could use different types of mustard.  I like horseradish mustard or just your plain yellow mustard.  Honey Mustard would also be a fun choice to try in this Shaker Bottle Whiskey Steak Marinade!

Suggested Whiskey or Bourbons:  Jim Beam Black, Jack Daniels, & Maker’s Mark

Men you can do this!

Ingredients

  • ¼ Cup of Whiskey
  • ¼ Cup of Soy Sauce
  • ¼ Cup of Dijon Mustard (Any mustard will work)
  • ¼ Of Brown Sugar
  • 2 Tsp of Minced Garlic (2 Cloves is usually what I use)
  • 1 Tsp of Salt
  • 1 Dash of Worcestershire Sauce
  • Pepper to your taste

Directions

  1. Get out your 2 fresh garlic cloves and mince them up.  Set aside for use.
  2. Add the Brown Sugar, Whiskey, Soy Sauce, mustard, salt, Worcestershire sauce, some pepper, & your minced Garlic to your shaker bottle.
  3. Place the lid and lock it into place.  Now you are ready. Give the Shaker Bottle a good shake!
  4. Take out a gallon plastic bag or an airtight container.  Place your chosen steak into the bag or container.
  5. Pour the marinade over the steaks within the bag or container.
  6. Seal up the container and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.  I prefer to do this the day before and let the steaks marinate overnight.
  7. Prepare your steak how you like.  In most instances, I’ll grill my steaks on a Weber Grill.  I’ll usually get the grill hot and then cook the steaks about 2 minutes to 2 and ½ minutes per side depending on the steak.  To get a really good medium rare I use an instant-read thermometer to get an internal steak temperature of 130 degrees.
  8. Remove Steak when it hits that temperature and let it rest for 10 minutes.  Plate & Enjoy!
