Intro

Sweet Heat Sea Scallops are just that sweet and simple to make!  I have heard that people think Sea scallops are difficult to make.  They can be if you don’t handle them right.  However, you need to add Sea Scallops to your life they taste great and are good for you!  Sweet Heat Sea Scallops is a recipe I believe anyone can do if they just follow my step by step recipe here.  Let’s get into it right after I tell you what beer to drink.

Beer pairing

I believe all seafood especial clams, mussels, oysters, & scallops go best with the one and only Guinness.  The reason being Guinness has four of the five taste senses.  Guinness has Sweet, sour, savory, and bitterness.  The seafood especially oysters have the 5th sense which is salt, so with all 5 combined we have the best ever combination!  Sweet Simple Sea Scallops go well with Guinness!

Men you can do this!

Ingredients

  • 8 to 12 Medium to Large Sea Scallops
  • ½ Stick of Butter
  • 3 Cloves of Garlic
  • A small amount of Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper

Sweet Heat Sauce

  • 1 TBS Honey
  • Sriracha to your Taste

Directions

  1. Take your Sea Scallops out of the fridge and let them come to room temperature.  This is the most important step to a good scallop.  It lets the scallop cook all the way through correctly!
  2. Season Scallops with Salt and Pepper.
  3. Mince the 3 cloves of garlic and begin to heat a nonstick pan to a medium-high heat.
  4. Melt your butter in the pan and as it melts add in the garlic and a small amount of olive oil.  The oil will help to stop the butter from burning.
  5. Place the scallops in the pan and let them start to cook.  If they don’t sizzle right away then the pan is not hot enough. Use a spoon to cover the scallops in butter and garlic as they cook.
  6. After about 90 seconds check the bottom to see if the crust has formed.  If it has then flip them over and it will take less time for this side to cook.  Probably a minute or so.
  7. Remove once done and plate.
  8. Take a small bowl add the honey.  Now the Sriracha is to taste, so add a little taste it.  If it needs a little more add it.  Just remember you can’t take it out once it’s added.  You can add more honey to offset it though.
  9. Once you have the sauce to your taste drizzle it over plated Sea Scallops and enjoy your meal!
