Intro

This is a Pub Style Beer Cheese Sauce.  I’ve found that this White Cheddar Beer Sauce stands up to most I’ve come across in my years of Bar & Pub visits.  The flexibility with this one is all in the Beer you use.  For this one, I would stick to either a stout or a dark lager beer.  In this instance, I used New Belgium 1554.  One of my favorite beers in this world, but Guinness works just as well.   Whenever I enter a new Bar or Pub I usually check out the menu.  If the menu has a Beer Cheese on it you can rest assured I’ll be ordering it.  I’m a sucker for melty cheese with beer flavor.

This can be a sauce for your vegetables like broccoli or can be a dip for a soft pretzel.  Recently I’ve used it for those frozen broccoli tots that I air fry and you can get at most supermarkets.  I try to make this in the winter months because it just feels like a heavy and hearty warmer.  It is always a great one for when you have people around for a football game or fighting event.  White Cheddar Beer Sauce is one I hope will become a favorite for you as well!

Men you can do this!

Ingredients

  • 8oz of White Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 2 TBS of flour
  • 2TBS of Butter
  • 1 cup of Beer (In this instance I used a Black Lager)
  • 8oz of Cream Cheese cubed

Directions

  1. In a small pot melt butter and mix in flour over medium heat.
  2. Next, add in the beer & cubed cream cheese.  Continually mix until most of the cream cheese is melted down.
  3. Reduce heat to medium.
  4. Add the shredded White Cheddar Cheese and let it all melt together.
  5. Finally, reduce heat to low and serve up. (You can also transfer this over to a small slow cooker and leave it on low for parties)
