Intro

Jalapeno Chip Mash Potatoes are a great side dish to any meal.  Now if you desire you can swap this out for different chips to get different Mash potatoes flavors!  Give BBQ chips a try or Sour Cream and onion Chips!  I’m just partial to Jalapeno Chips.  These go great with Steak or Chicken.  Quick and easy to make and you don’t need a lot.  4 ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen.  Any type of chips will work.  I’ve found that Kettle Chips are great but Lays Potato Chips are great too.  Lays Potato Chips break down and become mashed potatoes much quicker than Kettle Chips.  Jalapeno Chips Mash Potatoes are the new Quick Mash Potatoes that you can enjoy anytime with any meal. Give them a shot!

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup of Water
  • 4 Cups of Kettle Jalapeno Chips
  • ¼ Cup of half & half or Milk
  • ½ Cup Shredded Cheddar
  • Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. Measure out 4 cups of Potato Chips and set them aside.
  2. In a small pot bring a cup of water to a boil.
  3. Now here you can either smash up the chips and then add them to the water. Or you can just add them to the water and begin to break them up with a spoon.
  4. Work the Chips to get them to dissolve into the water. As they start to break down you can now add the Half & Half or just Milk.
  5. They should over the next 5 to 8 minutes begin to look just like Mash Potatoes.
  6. Add in the Shredded Cheddar and let it melt into the now creamy Mash Potatoes.
  7. Pepper to taste and enjoy as your side dish!
